Great but a major drawback on the display
This is a great item if only to just look at what your appliances and small electronics use in power. One thing that keeps this from being a 5 star review is that the manuf. still does not provide a backlit display. The numbers may be big but in a dim light and 70 YO eyes you need a flashlight to see them. Back lighting would really be a BIG plus.

    P3 Kill-A-Watt
It's a very well made meter, that does the job. The control button setup is almost intuitive and self-evident. I immediately added a short extension cord, because I had tight clearances at both nearby wall outlets. Also, I missed (instantaneous or average) current (Amp) readings and it won't work in some of my ancient 2-prong outlets -- no matter. The labels (kwh, etc) display are tiny and hard to see -- while stooped-down in cramped shadows, trying to read the meter plugged into a low wall outlet. Again no matter, because the numbers are generally self-evident. You need to pick a $/kwh value -- from the many on your electric bill. (I used Total cost / Total kwh).

    Good product, easy to use
Clever design, quickly translates your energy draw into dollars and cents. Takes a bit of learning to use, but once you set it up it's super easy to swap around to different locations in the house.
